Bangkok is a city that never sleeps, as there’s always something going on all day and night. If this is your first time in Bangkok, prepare to be amazed by the lifestyle that seems hectic 24/7. One of the best things you can do at night while you’re in Bangkok is to do some market hopping around all the night markets in the city. With that said, here are five of the most popular night markets that you definitely shouldn’t miss:

1.Siam Night Market

Siam Night Market is located in the middle of the city next to the Siam BTS station. This is an interchange between the Sukhumvit (light green) and Silom (dark green) lines. The market is opened from 6 pm all the way to 11 pm, from Tuesday through Sunday every week. This is one of the most popular and vibrant market areas. There are so many food and goods to buy all along the length of the market, which is just one block long. If you like the chaotic and fun nature of the young crowd, this is the market you should visit.

2.Pat Pong Night Market

Pat Pong is famous for many reasons, one of which is because it’s known to be the Red Light District of Thailand. However, one thing that people will definitely notice when they stop by at this market is the number of shops and stalls that you will see. You can buy everything from fun little knick-knacks, souvenirs, clothes, and even some authentic Thai decorations. The Pat Pong market starts to come alive at around 6 pm and it stays up all the way through 1 am every day except for Mondays. To come here, you simply need to take the BTS to Sala Dang station and walk a little bit of distance towards the tail-end of Silom Road. Alternatively, you can also get off at Silom MRT station, but it’s a slightly longer walk from the subway train.

3.Nana Night Market

Nana is an area of Bangkok where you will find the most “farangs” or foreigners, as this is a popular location for tourists for many reasons. There are Irish pubs, bars, and other night time establishments that attract tourists to come and spend time here. The Nana Night Market is where the road is the most packed. This is where all the vendors come to flaunt their goods to curious travelers. You can find all types of goods here; from Persian products, Indian spices, to Thai massage oils. No matter what you’re looking for, chances are you will find it here at Nana Night Market. You can reach this market very easily by getting off at the Nana BTS station and walk a bit of distance into the Soi.

4.Rod Fai Srinakarin Night Market

If you’re tired of the crazy night market experience, Talad Rod Fai Srinakarin is where you need to be. The market is also known as Srinakarin Train Market.  It’s located a fair distance away from the city center such as Siam and Silom.  However, you can still reach it by getting off at On Nut BTS station and taking a taxi outbound from the downtown area. The Rod Fai Market is massive compared to the other ones mentioned in the list.  However,  it’s not nearly as crowded as any of them. You can find everything from second-hand goods, street food dishes, to hand-crafted garments and accessories.

5.Victory Monument Night Market

The Victory Monument is a major transportation hub, as this is where you can get a shuttle bus or “rod may” to the outer ring of the city. This makes it a prime location for merchants to set up shops, which was how the Victory Monument Market came to be. It’s where all the office workers and students go to buy cool and cheap clothes, as well as other small toys and gadgets. If you’re a sucker for value deals, you will surely love this place.
